Accessibility statement
Brookside Primary School wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people with disabilities.
Brookside Primary School believes that everyone should be able to find information about the school and reach it on equal terms. This statement describes the accessibility of the website brookside-primary-school-demo.vs-cool.com.
The standard
The website is built to meet the Israeli standard IS 5568, "Accessibility guidelines for web content", at level AA, which adopts the international guidelines WCAG 2.0 at level AA, as the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 2013, require.
What has been done
- The pages work with a keyboard alone, and the focus is visible.
- The pages are built with headings, landmarks and labels that screen readers announce, in Hebrew and in English, right to left and left to right.
- Pictures that carry information have a text alternative; decorative pictures are hidden from screen readers.
- Colours are chosen for readable contrast, and no information is given by colour alone.
- Text can be enlarged up to 200% without losing content, and the pages fit a phone's screen.
- An accessibility menu on every page (the accessibility button in the side dock) lets you enlarge the text, underline links, add spacing, stop animations and raise the contrast. Your choice is remembered on this device.
- Forms have visible labels and explain what went wrong in your language.
What is not fully accessible yet
We check the website regularly, but some content may not be fully accessible yet, for example documents uploaded as scanned files, older videos without captions, and content shown from other services (maps, video players, embedded forms). If you find a page or a document you cannot use, tell us and we will provide the information in another way and fix it.
