Privacy policy
How Brookside Primary School collects, uses and protects personal information on this website.
This policy explains what personal information Brookside Primary School ("the school", "we") collects through this website (brookside-primary-school-demo.vs-cool.com), why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the website only; the information the school keeps about its students and families as part of their studies is covered by the school's own records policy.
Who is responsible
Brookside Primary School is responsible for the personal information collected on this website. You can reach us at (to be filled in by the school), by phone on (to be filled in by the school), or by post at (to be filled in by the school).
What we collect
- What you send us. When you fill in an enquiry, application, registration or newsletter form, we receive what you type: usually a name, an email address or phone number, and your message or answers.
- When you sign in. Students, families and staff sign in to the school's platform; the platform keeps what is needed to let them in and to keep their account safe.
- Technical information. Like every website, the server sees your device's address and browser type when a page is requested, and keeps short-lived logs for security.
- Cookies. A few small files that keep the site working and remember your choices. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you agree. See the cookie policy.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, process an application or registration, and send what you asked for.
- To send the newsletter, only if you asked for it; every message has a way to stop it.
- To keep the website secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
The website and its forms run on the VisCool school platform, which processes the information on the school's behalf and under its instructions. We share information with other service providers (for example, a payment provider when you pay a fee) only as far as the service needs, and with authorities only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to answer you and follow up, and an application or registration for as long as the school's records rules require. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
Children
Applications and registrations for a child are made by a parent or guardian. If you think a child has sent us personal information without a parent's knowledge, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted where the law allows, or to object to a use of it. Use the request form or write to (to be filled in by the school), and we will answer within the time the law sets. You can change your cookie choices at any time with the "Privacy choices" link on every page, and stop our newsletter with the link in every message.
Security
Information is sent over an encrypted connection and kept on servers with access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date below shows the latest version.
